Mr. Griffeth spent over 10 years studying and learning about residential school’s before his dream came to realization in Academy Ranches. Over the years Mr. Griffeth has pursued a variety of interests, including teaching at the elementary and junior high school levels, including some experience in education administration.

Mr. Griffeth has combined his love for teaching along with his experience raising 8 children and created the nurturing, grounding environment that is Academy Ranches. Born and raised in Preston, Idaho, Mr. Griffeth came to understand and appreciate the valuable life lessons children learn through life and work on a ranch. This appreciation is represented in the program philosophy and approach to improving young men’s lives. Pictured with Lorenzo is Tango, a 6 year old double registered Appaloosa mare. Tango is the daughter of “Express Approval” and is a very sociable member of the herd. Experienced horsemen may notice two swirl patterns on her forehead which they say indicates a tendency of hard headedness. We like to think of Tango as persistent and dedicated.
